Shaolin Zen teaches and shares the ORIGINAL style of Zen Buddhism (Chan Buddhism) that was founded by Bodhidharma in 600 A.D. at the Shaolin Temple on Mt. Songshan in Northern China. Bodhidharma "Ta Mo" is also the founder of Shaolin Kung Fu based on the Kalaripayattu martial art he brought with him from India.
Zen Buddhism is based upon the Mahayana Buddhism that already existed in China when Bodhidharma arrived there. The Shaolin Monks became famous by 1,000 A.D. for their Kung Fu and Zen enlightenment. The Japanese had to remove the Kung Fu from their Japanese Zen Buddhism. Shaolin Zen teaches the Zen (no longer taught at the Shaolin Temple) and the Shaolin Kung Fu (also not taught at the Temple) because it takes at least 4-months to learn one form (martial arts dance or classical weapon).
